Reiki for Stress Relief and Natural Healing

Reiki is a holistic healing technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes balance of the body, mind, spirit and emotions.

Reiki is a Japanese word meaning “Universal Life Force Energy.” This system of healing was developed by Dr. Mikao Usui in the early 1900’s.

Reiki is a Form of Energy Healing

It is based on the idea that there is a “life force energy” flowing through all living things. This vital energy of life is called “ki” or “chi” or “prana” in various Eastern traditions. When this “ki” is balanced and flowing freely through us, we can achieve a happy, healthy state of well-being. However, blockages or imbalance in our body’s energy system can lead to pain or dis-ease.

Reiki is an easy and natural way to help bring yourself back to the peaceful and healthy state of wellness that we all want to enjoy.

Reiki works with the body’s energy system. Chakras are a core part of our energy system. Chakra is an ancient Sanskrit word that translates as “wheel” or “disc.” Chakras are not seen in the physical body because they are fields of energy.

We have seven main chakras which are believed to be spinning spheres of bioenergetic activity (like electromagnetic energy fields). The seven chakras are stacked vertically in a column of energy that begins at the base of the spine and moves upward to the crown of the head. Each chakra has a purpose as well as unique characteristics.

Reiki works on all the chakras to ensure the flow of energy throughout the body is balanced and free-flowing.

Getting a Reiki Treatment

During a typical Reiki session with me, you lay on a massage table, wearing comfortable clothing. I play soft music in the background to help you relax and let go of stress. All you have to do is lie down, close your eyes, and breathe. With a light touch and a very relaxing process, I will lightly place my hands on your body, assisting your body’s energy system to flow in a free and healthy way that supports your highest good. Sessions last about 45 minutes.

After receiving a Reiki treatment, it is common to feel deep relaxation, relief from stress, and a sense of peace and well-being.

Reiki is complementary to traditional medicine by enhancing the healing process for people with varied health or medical conditions. It can also help reduce the pain and stress associated with disease. Therefore, it is a great way to help promote healing and recovery in conjunction with other medical or therapeutic techniques. It is also a great adjunct to counseling and emotional healing.

I can integrate Reiki and counseling to help you find answers and directions that are right for you in the healing you seek through counseling, and this can help you meet your counseling goals (especially goals for reducing stress and anxiety).

Reiki provides healing on all levels: body, mind, spirit, emotions, and energy. Reiki helps you to be open to your intuition and to trust your Inner Source of wisdom and guidance. Reiki can also help you connect to the Divine within.

While Reiki is not a religion and has no religious affiliation, it can be a spiritual experience that usually blends well whatever religious/spiritual beliefs you have. Thus, Reiki can open the door to new levels of enlightenment.

Learn to do Reiki Yourself

Anyone can do Reiki once they have been “attuned” to the Reiki energy in one of my Reiki classes. Reiki is an amazingly simple technique to learn.
